Touring Cars at Brands Hatch
On 2 October, Dominic and Steve went to the penultimate round of the 2011 British Touring Cars at Brands Hatch. It was the first time that we had been to a race day at Brands Hatch - every time that we had been before had been for qualifying. We had downloaded a pass for car parking on the South Bank. This was great as we were able to park within the circuit itself and so did not need to carry everything around all day. Many other people had obviously parked on the South Bank in the past as they were really prepared - taking their BBQs for a full tailgate party. Next time we will remember to take a BBQ!
Considering that it was October, the weather was amazing - we were in shorts and T-shirts all day.
The racing was not the most exciting - there was very little overtaking and very few drivers coming off the track, and most of the excitement that did happen seemed to take place where we could not see - a lot on the back section of the grand prix track that was being used rather than the normal Indy circuit which you can see all of from the grandstand. Nevertheless, it was a good day out, and made for some good photographs.
