As planned, I managed a day at the flying field today.

It was a bit windier than I would have liked, around 10mph, and I did wonder whether, after having had such little practice recently, I should be flying. However, I decided that there was no excuse, and so started off flying the Cougar (pictured above). On its first flight when I was last at the field, it ran of receiver battery, and so had a lucky escape with only it's undercarriage broken. So today was its first proper flight. In fact, I had three good flights with it, and despite the wind managed rolls and loops. It was also great at kiting - facing into the wind and just hanging in the air - and therefore quite good at landing too!

I then got my Wot 4 flying. It's last flight finished in a tree, and the first two flights today also ended with deadsticks with the engine dying. Fortunately, the first deadstick was close to the strip and so I managed a safe landing, and on the second one I was just a little short, landing just off the strip and breaking the plastic undercarriage bolts. After a little help in retuning the engine, I had a third flight that landed under full power.

I also managed a couple of flights with the foam Wot 4 - although it was a little windy - and finished with a flight of the Funbat, which was good until I flew it in front of the sun and completely lost site of it until it had a heavy landing - although fortunately without any damage.
